You don't need to be a professional player to win consistently. Use these tips to sharpen your game at rekor777.
Don't play every hand. Focus on strong starting cards such as high pocket pairs (AA, KK, QQ) and suited connectors with flush or straight potential.
Sitting in a late position (button or cutoff) gives you an informational edge since you act after your opponents. Use this position to make sharper, more informed decisions.
Betting consistently at a reasonable size (typically 2/3 to 3/4 of the pot) makes it harder for opponents to read your intentions. Avoid going too small or too large.
Pay attention to your opponents' betting patterns — when they check-raise, when they slow-play a strong hand. That information is worth more than any fixed strategy.
A bluff only works when you've built a believable story throughout the hand. Random, unfounded bluffs are easy for experienced players to spot — and they'll cost you.
Never sit at a table with a buy-in that exceeds 5% of your total bankroll. Disciplined bankroll management is what separates players who last from those who go bust quickly.
Learn to estimate pot odds on the fly. If your chance of winning is higher than the ratio the pot is offering, calling is the mathematically correct decision.
Losing several hands in a row can trigger "tilt" — where emotion overrides logic. When that feeling sets in, step away, take a break, and come back with a fresh mindset.
